Friskis&Svettis Emergency Facts 2012
5,4 per cent of Sweden's inhabitants are now a part of Friskis&Svettis. Since 2000 the number of members has increased by 150% to 535 000 members. With the Friskis&Svettis Emergency Facts you now have the possibility to be 100% certain when you write about Sweden's largest national movement.
• Friskis&Svettis is comprised of 159 non-profit sports associations.
• 535 000 members. An increase of 150% since 2000.
• 5,4 per cent of Sweden's inhabitants are members of Friskis&Svettis. 20 Friskis&Svettis associations have over 10% of the locality's population as members. A further 56 Friskis&Svettis associations have over 5% the locality's population as members. The complete list can be found here.
• 16 370 persons partake in a Friskis&Svettis association.
• 113 associations in Sweden, 38 associations in Norway and associations in Helsinki, Vanda, Copenhagen, Brussels, Paris, Luxembourg, London and Aberdeen.
• There are currently 492 708 training
members in Sweden, 28 463 in Norway and 4 686 in Aberdeen, Brussels,
Helsinki, Copenhagen, London, Luxembourg, Paris and Vanda.
• 938 new leaders and instructors educated and qualified/licenced during 2010. Friskis&Svettis educates its own leaders and instructors
• 1978, Friskis&Svettis was founded in Stockholm by Johan Holmsäter. After only six months the association had 1 450 members. Today, Friskis&Svettis Stockholm is Sweden's largest sports association with 60 101 members. 1985, Johan Holmsäter left his commission.
